September is National Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Awareness Month, which serves as a reminder that Good Samaritan Medical Center is committed to your heart health.

AFib is the most common type of heart arrhythmia. It happens when multiple areas in the upper region of the heart are sending rapid, irregular signals, causing ineffective and out of rhythm heart beats. Because atrial fibrillation increases the risk of dying from a stroke, it needs immediate medical attention.
