Dr. Betancourt discusses new pediatric obesity treatment guidelines with CBS 12 News
Jan 20, 2023On Monday, the American Academy of Pediatrics released new guidelines on treating kids with obesity. It’s a more aggressive approach now, which could mean, in some severe cases, surgery for children as young as 13.
The reason why: obesity can trigger a slew of other health issues, like diabetes and heart disease. So, treating obesity early can mean better outcomes later in life.
