Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Maybe you’re expecting for the first time. Or perhaps you’re a mother with a growing family. No matter if you have one, two or five children, you, like all mothers, worry about the health of your newborn.

There are times when a few newborns may need extra care. Our Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is here just for such babies. If your child is born premature, ill or has a medical condition, he or she will receive the best in care at the Level II NICU.

Below is a list of conditions common to newborns admitted to the Level II NICU. Keep in mind, though, that admittance doesn’t mean your baby is seriously ill. Sometimes it’s just a safety precaution.

  • Anemia
  • Sleep apnea
  • Bradycardia
  • Bronchopulmonary dysplasia
  • Hydrocephalus
  • Intraventricular hemorrhage
  • Jaundice
  • Necrotizing enterocolitis
  • Respiratory distress syndrome

Upon admittance, your baby will be cared for by our staff of dedicated and highly-trained nurses while our physicians will work delicately to diagnosis and develop a treatment plan. You will not be separated from your baby without first understanding why and for how long. You’ll also be allowed to visit with your baby during periods of recovery.
