Diabetes Education Program 

The Diabetes Education Program offers small group classes and support groups directed and staffed by certified diabetes educators and a multidisciplinary team to meet the needs of a person with diabetes or pre-diabetes. This program meets the National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education endorsed by the American Diabetes Association.

  • Practically Speaking: Do-It-Yourself Diabetes booklet
  • Healthy eating and practical menu planning
  • Lunch with the educator

  • Insulin/Injectible administration (individual)
  • Acute and chronic complications
  • Personal care: proper self-foot exams and blood pressure monitoring
  • Medications
  • Blood Glucose Monitoring
  • Stress reduction techniques
  • Free monthly support groups

Education is covered by Medicare and most insurance companies. Physician order or prescription is necessary for admission to the program.
