Dear Friends and Neighbors of Good Samaritan,
On behalf of our credentialed physicians, dedicated employees, and caring volunteers, I welcome you to the Good Samaritan Medical Center.
When Good Samaritan Medical Center first opened its doors in 1919, we served Palm Beach County as a three-room cottage that functioned as an emergency hospital. In 1920, Good Samaritan moved into its permanent location and continued to grow in response to the changing healthcare needs of our community. Over 90 years later, our evolving to meet the needs of the community is still at the forefront of our mission.
Today, Good Samaritan Medical Center is an award-winning 333-bed acute care hospital. In fact, our hospital was one of a select few Tenet Healthcare hospitals that were chosen from across the country to receive the 2013 Tenet Circle of Excellence Award. This award is recognition of our efforts to improve the quality of our services, being attentive to the satisfaction of our patients, physicians and employees, creating a work environment whereby we retain our highly skilled and compassionate employees, and have been good stewards of our financial resources which has enabled us to invest in new technologies for the future.
In recent years, Good Samaritan Medical Centers has made great strides in our healthcare delivery, and we have focused intensive efforts on particular services such as an expansion of our bariatrics, surgical services, orthopedic and spine services, women's health and obstetrics, cardiac and vascular services, our concierge nursing unit and private medical detox, and our strategic alignment with the Palm Beach Cancer Institute. For cardiovascular care, Good Samaritan recently opened a new cardiac catheterization lab and advanced CT Imaging System, launched our angioplasty program, and earned designation as a State-Certified Primary Stroke Center.
The hospital has brought advanced technology to our surgical care by introducing robotic surgery procedures including the daVinci® Surgical System, MAKOplasty® Partial Knee Resurfacing Procedure and iBlock® Total Knee Technology. We also introduced the RF Surgical to ensure safer surgeries. In our Intensive Care Units, Intensivists are managing our patients and insuring greater patient safety. We have made technological advancements, and we are focused on insuring that you have the right doctor and hospital staff when you need them.
